According to an October 3, 2022 letter from a coalition of Arizona-based groups led by ACLU Arizona to CBP Commissioner Chris Magnus, “an individual with HIV had his medications removed by Border Patrol agents in Arizona and was not given any medications while detained. He ended up contracting COVID during that time and was not provided any medications upon release.”
